Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Anchor. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Anchor.

You are responsible for giving accurate account information, protecting your credentials and authentication methods, and activity performed through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Do not share an account in a way that defeats security or plan limits. Anchor may require authentication again or temporarily restrict access when needed to protect the account or service.

Anchor provides private-by-default tools for writing Reflections, talking with Mira, and saving Core Memories. Reflect is for your own writing; Mira is optional. Talk is the place to work through something with Mira.

Features, limits, and availability can differ by plan. Anchor may improve, replace, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, or develop the service.

Mira is software, not a person. AI-generated responses can misunderstand context, omit important information, or be inaccurate. They may not be unique, and another user may receive similar output.

You remain responsible for deciding whether and how to rely on a response. Verify important information independently, especially before making decisions that could affect health, safety, legal rights, finances, employment, or other people.

Mira is not a therapist, doctor, emergency service, lawyer, or financial adviser. Anchor does not diagnose, treat, or provide professional advice. If there is immediate danger or an emergency, contact local emergency services or an appropriate qualified professional.

Anchor may show safety information or resource links when a Conversation suggests immediate danger. Those notices do not turn Anchor into a crisis or professional service.

You retain the rights you have in the journal entries, messages, Reflections, and Core Memories you submit to Anchor. These Terms do not give Anchor ownership of your private writing.

You give Anchor a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, encrypt, decrypt, process, transmit, and display User Content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and maintain the service you use. This includes sending the necessary content to an AI provider when you invoke Mira. The license ends when the content is deleted, subject to the deletion, provider-log, backup, and operational-record limits described in the Privacy Policy.

You must have the rights needed to submit User Content and must respect other people’s privacy, confidentiality, and intellectual-property rights.

Anchor’s Privacy Policy explains what information the service handles, how server-managed encryption works, when information is sent to OpenAI and other providers, and what deletion can and cannot remove. The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.

Enhanced and Complete are recurring subscriptions purchased through Stripe-hosted Checkout. The price, billing interval, and any taxes are shown during checkout. Stripe processes payment-card information; Anchor receives billing and subscription metadata needed to activate and manage the plan.

You can manage or cancel a subscription through the Stripe Customer Portal linked from Anchor. The portal shows the current subscription status and when a scheduled change takes effect. For refund questions, contact Anchor. These Terms do not reduce any cancellation or refund right that applicable law gives you.

If payment fails, a subscription expires, or Stripe reports that a paid entitlement is no longer active, Anchor may return the account to the corresponding available plan and limits.

Enhanced and Complete plans can export individual Conversations and Reflections as PDFs and the current Core Memory bank as JSON. Free accounts cannot export. Anchor does not impose a product usage quota on exports; technical document safety limits still apply to PDF generation.

An exported file is plaintext outside Anchor’s encrypted storage boundary. You are responsible for where you save it, how you share it, and the security of the device or service that stores it.

Use Anchor in a way that respects the law, other people, and the security of the service. Difficult, personal, or emotionally charged private writing is not prohibited merely because of its subject. The line is using Anchor to facilitate harm, exploitation, abuse, rights violations, unauthorized access, or attacks.

The Responsible Use Policy gives the specific boundaries and forms part of these Terms.

Anchor and its licensors retain rights in the service itself, including its software, design, branding, documentation, prompts, workflows, and systems. Except for the right to use the service under these Terms, no rights in Anchor’s intellectual property are transferred to you.

Do not copy, sell, license, or distribute Anchor’s software or branding, or attempt to derive non-public source code, except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Anchor may be unavailable because of maintenance, provider failures, security work, or events outside reasonable control. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and you should keep copies of information you cannot afford to lose.

We may change the service or plan limits prospectively. A material change to these Terms will receive a new version and effective date, and should be communicated through the service or another available contact channel where appropriate.

Anchor may limit or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address a security threat, payment problem, legal requirement, or serious or repeated violation of these Terms or the Responsible Use Policy. Where practical and safe, we will try to give notice or a chance to correct the issue.

You may stop using Anchor at any time and may delete your account through the product. Account deletion attempts to cancel cancelable subscriptions and removes user-owned Anchor data as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting the account does not itself create a refund or erase records that a payment provider must retain.

Anchor is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. This does not exclude a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Mira responses are probabilistic software output. Anchor does not warrant that a response is accurate, complete, safe for every situation, or suitable for professional reliance.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Anchor’s operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill arising from use of the service. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

The version and dates at the top of this page change only when these Terms change. Continuing to use Anchor after revised Terms take effect means you accept them where that form of acceptance is permitted. If a change requires a different form of consent, Anchor must request it separately.
